Planning permission has recently been sought to demolish a large area of historical buildings within the Cultural Industries Quarter of Sheffield; a conservation area currently used by a number of independent businesses, artists, and musicians, providing space that is important for the continued cultural development of the city.
There are 27 buildings affected including Tye Die Tapes HQ, a DIY venue, practice space, and record label. It also affects our practice space that we share with 5 other bands.
We only have a couple of days to let the council know how damaging this will be for arts and music in Sheffield so we need to act now!
If you can spare a further couple of minutes, make sure you sign into the planning application on the council website and make a public comment, and click ‘object’, as the number of objections here is what the planning committee take into account when considering.
